Combined general and vocational upper secondary education – Dual qualification at Omnia

At Omnia, you can complete a dual qualification, i.e. a combined general and vocational upper secondary education, which means completing an upper secondary vocational qualification and the matriculation examination in parallel.

As a student in a vocational upper secondary qualification program, you can complete any vocational qualification and the matriculation examination. The upper secondary school studies are integrated into the vocational qualification, and the duration of the studies is 3–4 years. In the vocational upper secondary school, you will prepare for the matriculation examination in five subjects.

You can apply to the vocational upper secondary school when you accept a place in the vocational education program or after starting your vocational studies by contacting the guidance counselor at your campus.

Choose the vocational upper secondary school if you are interested in upper secondary school studies, want to improve your readiness for further studies, and aim to gain admission to higher education through certificate-based selection.

Graduation

You can graduate from the vocational upper secondary school with a matriculation certificate when you have completed both a vocational qualification and the matriculation examination. If necessary, you can continue your upper secondary school studies and examinations as a student in an adult upper secondary school.

You can receive a completion certificate from the adult upper secondary school if you have completed at least 88 credits in the adult upper secondary school curriculum.
