Work at the Game Development Workshop
At the Game Development Workshop, you'll have the opportunity to develop games in a professional environment and explore various aspects of game development, such as programming and 3D modeling. We work on projects, complete practical exercises, improve our collaboration skills through team activities, visit industry-related sites, and welcome guest professionals to our workshop. During the workshop period, you'll also enhance your language skills, information retrieval abilities, and teamwork and project management skills.
Depending on opportunities and assignments, we develop games in teams for companies and communities. In addition to client projects, participants can create games based on their own ideas or as practice exercises. During the workshop, you'll have the chance to build your own portfolio.
At the Game Development Workshop, you'll engage in:
- Game design
- Game programming
- Game art, including 3D modeling and sculpting environments and characters
- Concepting, pitching, and developing games.
The Game Development Workshop is a new initiative at the youth workshops, and you'll be part of building and shaping this new workshop and its activities.
The workshop provides a space for experimentation, creativity, and success across different areas of game development. The goal is to help participants discover their passion and develop their skills to pursue employment or further studies in the gaming industry.
We adhere to the Finnish Game Industry Code of Conduct and provide a safe and inclusive community for all participants.
