Activity at the Social and Health Care Workshop
During the workshop, you will get to know the themes of well-being, gain valuable work experience in the field of guidance and support in planning your own future.
The well-being workshop will be familiarised with e.g.
- human functional ability and basic well-being
- meaningful everyday activities and life management
- work and study readiness.
Topics are dealt with by means of written tasks and creative and functional methods, i.e. by utilizing, for example, handicrafts, culture, movement and nature. The activities of the workshop are new and customers get to join in building the new workshop and developing its activities.

Information about the workshops
This workshop is for you, if
- you are under 30 years old and live in Espoo, Kauniainen or Kirkkonummi.
- You could be an unemployed person aged 18–29. You are eligible for unemployment benefit during the workshop.
- You could be a student aged 16–29 who wants to complete studies in a workshop environment. Persons of the compulsory education age will need a study place before applying for the workshops.
- you are interested in the workshop tasks and are motivated to progress.
What happens in the workshops?
In the workshops, you will learn new skills, and abilities which will help you in your future studies and working life. The workshops provide meaningful activities and routine to daily life. You will receive support with making plans for the future and working towards your goals.
You can come to the workshops as you are. Guidance will be provided in the workshops so no prior knowledge is required.
During the workshop, you will
- receive orientation for the workshop tasks
- learn field-specific basic skills
- practise skills needed in working life and studies
- practise working life
- receive support with making plans for the future
- receive support with daily life management.
You can also complete field-specific and common qualification modules in the workshops. At the end of the workshop, you will receive a certificate of your experience.
What happens after the workshop?
The workshop aims to prepare you for employment or further studies.
Recommendation on language proficiency level
Recommendation on language level at Omnia Youth Workshops:
- It is good for you to know Finnish at about A2 level.
- The workshops guide and work in the Finnish language.
- It is important for you to be motivated to do workshop tasks and learn the Finnish language.
- You must understand written and oral instructions related to safety and work, for example.
- Language level of the well-being workshop
You need to know Finnish well enough to do these things at the Wellness Workshop:
- You understand the Finnish language and can read.
- You know how to work with other people.
- You know basic social and health vocabulary (for example, you know what it means to have blood pressure).
- At the workshop, you do written tasks where you have to look for information and answers.
- You work in a group in Finnish and you need to understand the instructions given.
- You know how to use Finnish, for example, when playing with children.
- You follow schedules and schedules and take initiative.
- For example, you visit day-care centres and service houses.
