Electronic Student Affairs Office – Certificate services

Service
Omnia’s Student Affairs Office will serve you electronically in matters related to certificates – manage your affairs without queuing and when it suits you best!

The majority of the certificates you'll need during your studies can be found electronically on Wilma.

Certificate services during studies

Log in to Wilma using your student ID number (not your email address) and click on the link “Todistuspalvelut” (“certificate services”). You can always download an up-to-date electronically signed study certificate or transcript of records. When you click on the name of the document you want to access, the document will appear in the “Documents” section from where you can download and attach it to, for example, Kela’s e-service or as an email attachment. You can also print out the documents you open.

If you need other certificates or, for example, additional verbal information on the progress of your studies in the transcript of records, fill out the service form of the Electronic Student Affairs Office. The delivery time for certificates and forms ordered through the Electronic Student Affairs Office is 3 working days.

Student card

Omnia provides its students with an electronic Slice student card. If you are entitled to student discounts from VR and Matkahuolto, Slice will act as the certificate proving that you are entitled to the discount.

With Slide, you also get many other benefits and discounts – so we recommend that you download and activate the card as soon as your Wilma credentials work.

A graduating student's certificates

Students graduating from Omnia's vocational education, TUVA training, adult high school, and adult basic education will receive their original certificates electronically.

The electronic certificate saves time and the environment. It is also easier to attach to, for example, a job application or an application for further studies, compared to a paper certificate.

The electronic qualification certificate and its appendices are delivered to students by email (the certificate can be downloaded at a link included in the email) immediately after graduation.

Downloading and storing the electronic qualification certificate

You will be sent an email through which you can download your electronic diploma. The download link will work for 30 days. Download and save the certificate on your own device!

If the link has expired or you have not received the email, you can request a new link using an electronic form of the Student Affairs Office in Finnish (Forms).

Using and verifying an electronic certificate

The electronic certificate is your true and original certificate. You can save the certificate in several places and forward it as an attachment to a job application, for example.

Do not open your certificate in the editing mode of Word or try to edit your certificate in any way, as this will break the digital verification of the certificate.

If you or your workplace, for example, need to verify the validity of an electronically signed certificate, you can do it using a validator. An electronically signed certificate can be verified in the certificate service available on the website of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency (dvv.fineid.fi).

If you need manual confirmation of the authenticity of your certificate (e.g. certain countries require a paper version of foreign certificates), you can request a copy from Omnia’s certificate archives.

A paper copy is not an official qualification certificate

In addition to the electronic qualification certificate, you will be given a paper copy of the qualification certificate when you graduate. However, the copy is not an official qualification certificate.

You can also print out the electronic qualification certificate whenever you want, but please remember that the qualification certificate is only official in its electronic format.

If you lose your electronic qualification certificate

Omnia archives electronic qualification certificates. If you lose the electronic qualification certificate you have downloaded, you can request your certificate from Omnia’s certificate archives.

Certificate services for graduates and those who have ended their studies

Students who have graduated from Omnia or have left Omnia can obtain an authenticated copy of their archived certificate and the related transcript of records. Archive requests are made with a separate form.
